Babies, everywhere babies!!!

First of all, Congratulations to our great friends Bjorn and Kjirsten on the birth of their second child.  A BOY!
( I was SO suprised, I thought for sure they were gonna have another little girl!)

Steig Bjorn Pearson was born Sunday and weighed in at 8lb 2oz!
I can't wait to meet the little guy (and yes, snap some photos!)

Sunday I also got to celebrate the Anticipation of a new baby!!!!
I co-hosted a baby shower for my best friend, Sarah, and even though it was a little warm out, it was a fabulous day!  Sarah, you looked wonderful and I can hardly stand waiting on this little one!  (Seriously, I'm so excited about this baby, it's a little weird!)  I'm just going to formally put it out there, I'm voting GIRL!
Mama to be!!!

Lastly, my babies.
I love them.
They make me happy.
I want more of them.
(not yet, jeez, don't freak out...)

Every day they make me smile.
I have the WHOLE week home with them, and have lots of little updates on both, but for now...  it's simple. I love them!

Mr. and Mrs. Buckley

Congratulations to my dear friend Chelsie and her wonderful new husband Brent!
This past Friday I was honored to witness their wedding ceremony and share in their celebration!

Chelsie, you looked beautiful (not that I expected anything less!)

Enjoy your journey, congrats again, and I love you!

The Unfortunate Word

Language is a tough thing.

Every day I'm amazed at how much Lila understands.  The complex directions I can give her and she can carry out.   Each day her words become a little more clear.  The sentances make a little more sense.  The process is all around a little bit better.
However, getting the words BACK OUT is a bit more difficult.

Some letters are tougher than others.  She has trouble with her "F's"
"Fish" comes out "Bish"  "Feet" comes out "Peet", etc.

Some words are a little backwards.
"Garbage" comes out "Bargage" and "Cup" comes out "Puc".

Then there are the words that sound the same.
Sock, Nuk, Truck
Well, these don't exactly sound the same, but when Lila says them they do.
This is because they all come out sounding like a slang term for the male genitalia.
Say "Sock" and replace the "S" with a "C".

We have a lot of **** in our house right now.
What will people think we are teaching our daughter.
Lord, help me!

Today is a good day.

I worked last night, but it was a calm shift and I was able to leave 2 hours early!
This was fantastic for lots of reasons
1) the obvious: I left work 2 hours early.
2) this meant I was home before Ryan left and I got to spend 10 minutes with him!
3) the girls didn't need to get up early, just to drive in the car for an hour and a half!

Blessedly, both girls slept in and I caught a nap on the couch!

The morning went well, both sweeties were in good moods and there were lots of snuggles and smiles!
They both went down easy for naps, and although I may regret it later, I passed on the nap and headed outside with a cup of Joe!  The weather is just too amazing to sleep through and I have now come inside after an hour in the sun feeling refreshed!

I'm anxious for Ryan to come home.  I plan on taking a nice long walk and having a decent, NON-RUSHED dinner!  I'm also thinking I might indulge and climb in the tub with the girls tonight.   Bubble bath with the kids, to me it sounds delightful!

Today is a good day!

First tooth!

Today we discovered it.
Bottom front left.

Our little girl has her first tooth!
She's 4 months and has her first tooth!
Oh, she's getting so big so fast!

I guess that explains the weird week of sleep,
the fussiness, the snot, the drool...
Hmmm... makes sense now!

Wow, a tooth!

Pool, Lake, and other stuff

The past few weeks have been even crazier than normal, but it's been a lot of fun too.
We've spent lots of time visiting with family, many that we haven't seen in far too long!

Before Jackie and Bryan's wedding, some of the family gathered at my Aunt Colleens to visit and swim in the pool.  The weather was HOT and the water was WONDERFUL!  Elaina spent most of the day in someones arms and Lila had a BLAST in the pool!  She loved "swimming" and jumping in from the side! The girl has no fear, I tell ya!
Swimming in the pool with Auntie!

On Tuesday, my brother Jeff, came up from Louisiana for a very quick visit.  We met my Dad, sister, and Brent at Majors for a quick chat and dinner!  It was great to see him, I just wish it would have been a little more relaxing.  (Toddlers in a restaraunt do NOT equal quality chat time.)  I ended up taking the girls home with me, but Alex, Brent, Jeff, and Ryan headed out to the Twins game!  Let me tell ya, I was really wishing I would've been at that one!  Perfect weather, amazing seats (4 rows up behind home plate! Yeah, the green cushy chairs!), and a GREAT game!  That would be the one where we beat the White Sox 7-6 in extra innings with Thome's walkoff homer!!!  Woot Woot!!

Yesterday after I was done with my shift, Ryan and the girls picked me up and we headed up to Papa Dave's.  The weather wasn't ideal, but we did spend some time outside.  Elaina was sweet and charming like always, Lila was "energetic" and crazy like always ;), and I felt like a zombie from lack of sleep.  Again, it was great seeing family even though it wasn't a long stay!

This morning has been challenging.  Well, I'll rephrase... Lila has been challenging.  Not really sure what her deal is, but I'll just be honest and say I'm happy she's napping! Ha!  Potty training has been going well, be we seem to be having a little trouble this morning, oh well.  Nothing a little quiet time and coffee can't fix.  (That just means I'll handle it all a little better!)  Ryan's baking a cake, and I'm going to sit and close my eyes, then get on with our day.  It's the first full 24 hours we've had home as a family in almost a month!!!
Happy Sunday to you!
Happy Baby

Weddings and babies and birthdays!

Yesterday was a busy day!  Blessings all around!

First off, Happy HAPPY 30th Birthday to my awesome cousin Angie!
Girl, I miss you like crazy and was so sad you weren't able to be at the wedding yesterday, but I was thinking about ya and can't wait to see you when you get home!  I love you, hope your day was great!!

Second, my co-worker Christine welcomed two, yes... TWO new gifts to her family yesterday!  John Patrick and Katie Mary made their arrival into the world last evening!  Christine and her husband Peter lost their little girl Mary to cancer a little over a year ago when she was just 2 years old.  It has been a rough 2 years for them, but yesterday they started a whole new chapter of life.  I know Mary was up in heaven watching over them and raining kisses down on her family!!  Congrats to you all!

Lastly, I want to again wish a huge Congratulations to my cousin, Jackie and her new husband Bryan on their marriage!!  The day was beautiful and so, SO much fun!  Jackie, you were simply gorgeous and Bryan, welcome to our big, happy, CRAZY family! (Don't worry, you fit right in!)  ;)
~I have lots and LOTS of pictures to post, but I'm currently at work, so I'll try to get them up tomorrow!

Day to day

I should be cleaning my house.

But I'm not.

Instead I'm going through pictures.  Tons and tons of pictures.
Seriously... I have a problem.

The weekend will be busy, work, wedding, work.
I REALLY should get my house cleaned.
Lord knows it won't happen this weekend.

Here's just some pics from the typical day to day.
Now THIS is how you eat a sandwich!
Modesty isn't her strong point! haha
Sweet clean baby! YUM!
First ride on the 4 wheeler~ not too sure about it

Couple of cuties

Now, I'm going to go clean the house. I swear.  (after I get a cup of coffee!) (I might go sit outside in the sun too... just for a few minutes!)
