Back to work

The whole weekend really was pretty great!! On Friday, Ryan and I had our first date night since Lila was 6 weeks old! It was really nice and very needed! Dinner and a relaxing evening at home, just Perfect!! Lila stayed at Ryan's parents for the night and they said she was a very good girl! Rich brought her down to us on Saturday morning and then stayed to help Ryan install carpet in our downstairs bedroom. (It looks great too!) I spent most of the day cleaning and playing with Lila, which was perfectly fine by me!
Sunday was nice too. Both of Ryan's parents came down to help around the house and I left Lila at home and went to have a short coffee visit with my friend Sarah. We spent most of the time venting our feelings on the current dire state of our country ( I know, depressing right?), but regardless, it was good to see her. She's getting married in about 6-7 weeks, so hopefully once that's over, we'll have some time again to spend more than an hour together! I also ran a few errands, including grocery shopping which goes amazingly fast when you don't have kids with you! We just relaxed again last night and reflected on our good, productive weekend!
I go back to work tonight and once I make it through this 3 day stretch, I'm in the clear for a whole week! Woo Hoo! Well, I'm going to go get some dinner ready, so we can eat together when Ryan gets home before I have to head out the door!

So grateful

Today I've been filled with a feeling of contentment and happiness. I'm so blessed to have a family that is healthy, a nice home, and a great career that I'm proud of! Some days I can't stop complaining about all the little stuff that makes a day crazy, but I have to remind myself that it is just that... little stuff. The big stuff, the IMPORTANT stuff, is spending time with my precious little girl, my wonderful husband, and the rest of my family and remembering to enjoy each day. I thank God for all the great blessings He's bestowed on me. (I know I'm a little sappy, but it's just one of those days!) May you have a day filled with love and sunshine!

Passing the time...

It's almost 2 am, I'm at work, and good Lord... I'M TIRED! My co-workers and I have talked about just about all we can; our patients, our families, and of course the TWILIGHT movie/books. ( I heart Edward!!!) . My eyes are blurring over from watching the monitors and we've fallen into the drone of silence, in which we will stay until around 5am (unless we get a new patient). I had Lila all day today and although I did sneak in a little over an hour nap, I'm pretty sure this is gonna be one of those never ending nights... sigh.

I guess there are a few things to update on. Lila is sick...boo. I noticed a little cough on Monday and today her little nose was just dripping like a faucet... poor thing :( She's not particularly fond of me wiping it all the time either, but I can't stand seeing it running like that, yuck. You could tell she wasn't feeling tip-top either, cause she kept rubbing her face and eyes, and didn't have much of an appetite today. I hope she does ok at daycare tomorrow, I'll be calling them for an update sometime in the morning.

Some kinda exciting news... we have tenativly planned to take Rio to WI to be bred this spring!! I talked to our breeder and she thinks it's ok to go ahead this year already! I have to take her to the vet on Friday to get this... get and STD test!!! Haha, funny huh? Hope she hasn't been out whoring around ;) Once that comes back negative, we'll be set to go whenever she goes into heat! We're a little nervous about the whole puppy thing, but it will be fun... lots of work... but lots of fun! We'll see what happens there...

Anyway, I guess that's about it. Tomorrow I'm hoping to get a little extra sleep. Unfortunatly, it's because Ryan and Lila won't be home until later. They are picking up carpet and some stuff for our basement, so I won't see them before work. That means 2 days without seeing my baby girl, so sad :( Maybe work will be overstaffed and I can stay home until 11p?! That would be great! A girl can hope! I probably won't have much to write until after the weekend, so toodles for now!

This and that

Well, my week off has come to an end... BOO. I am headed back to work tonight and although I love my job (truly, I do), I hate these Fridays. Now I will get to spend less than an hour a day with my baby for almost a week. We had a really great week off, even with Lila being such a grouch. The weather was great so we spend lots of time outside, I was fairly productive in getting crap done around the house, and I even got to spend a little quality time with the hubs. Pretty awesome week!
As I mentioned, Miss Lila has continued to have an "off" week. She is normally a super happy, content little girl, who sleeps at night at least 6-7 hour stretches. Lately, she's become a bit whiny, demanding of 100% of your attention, and sleeping only around 4-5 hours. We don't really know what's up; growth spurt? Teething? Food? I'm sure it'll change again soon, we'll just see. It's not like she's horrible by any stretch, just a lot fussier than her norm. Yesterday we went to the zoo for the second time this week! Lila is getting to an age where she really likes to look around. She especially loves the "Tropics Trail" and all the fish in the aquarium. We went with my friend Chelsie and her little girl Elise, who is just 2 days younger than Lila. It was fun to see the 2 girls together, I can't wait to do it again. Maybe when it's a little warmer out! Well, I'm going to try and go back to sleep for just a little bit while Lila is napping. Who knows if she'll nap again later, and I need a little extra sleep to be functional tonight at work. Hope everyone has a great weekend~

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Today is supposed to be filled with the luck of the Irish right??? Well, so far, so good! Lila slept 10 hours last night, and now is down for her morning nap! Over the weekend she was a little grumpy, just not feeling her tip-top self, and wasn't sleeping good either (which means that I didn't sleep well myself). My dad and sister came for a visit on Saturday, it was really nice to see them, and Sunday Ryan and I spent most of the day scrubbing floors. Seriously. When I wasn't doing that, I was tending to Lila the Grouch, so not the best day, but not the worst either.
Yesterday we spend lots of time out in the GLORIOUS warm, fresh, spring air! We went to the zoo with friends KJ and baby Vega. It was great! Then we sat outside when we got home and played with the dogs and read books. She was so content being out in the sun! When Ryan got home from work, we all took a walk, and then chatted outside with the neighbors. Yep, spring is coming, and boy am I ready for it!!!
I'm not sure what the day holds in store for us, hopefully will be outside again, as the weather is supposed to be nice. Gotta get some groceries, maybe tackle the mountain of clothes staring at me from my laundry room... hmmm? We'll see. Hope ya'll have a Lucky Day!

Friday the 13th

It sounds like such an ominous day, but honestly... it's been pretty great so far! Lila, as usual, has been a peach. She slept from 8:30 last night until almost 6am (Woo Hoo), we've played in her bouncer, been rolling around on the floor, and she's so content to play in her saucer, that I've even got to finish the dishes and the laundry! She just went down for a nap and I have to get the clothes put away, but I thought I'd putz on the blog for a bit, trying to get the hang of it.
I'm looking forward to the weekend! It's supposed to be gorgeous out (almost 50 degrees) and I'm so, SO ready for it. Last week was just miserable...bah. The best part about it is, I DON'T HAVE TO WORK FOR A WHOLE WEEK!!!! I'm so happy to just be able to be home and spend time with my family. I like working night shift, but it gets so hard to leave them in the evening all the time. My dad is coming to visit with my sister tomorrow for the day, it will be good to see them, and then Ryan and I are just gonna tackle house stuff on Sunday (after we enjoy coffee and the paper, of course!) Getting this going

Okay, well, I think I'm actually gonna get this thing up and going now. Our computer is again functional, and in about 3 1/2 hours I'll be off work for a week, so hopefully I'll have some time to putz with it. Plus, my darling friend Heather is still on maternity leave for a week and she's got a cute blog and can help me set mine up! (Thanks doll, love you!) Keep checking in, I will finally make this interesting (well, as interesting as it can be , I guess?!)
